2010 WMW International Action videos!
Presented during the 8th International Meeting, held in Quezon City, Philippines, two videos have been compiled to display the lessons learned and images of the actions carried out around the world during 2010.
Third International Action at the WSF 2011
Progress and challenges for women arising from the activities organized by the WMW along 2010 in national and regional level as well as the international event in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have been discussed during the plenary session that we organized in the World Social Forum 2011, held in Dakar, Senegal, from the 6th to 11th February.

European Meeting: 2010 Evaluation and Plans for 2011
Exchanging and evaluating the Closing Event carried out in the Democratic Republic of Congo was one of the points on the agenda of the WMW European Regional Meeting, held from the 19th to 21st November in Lisbon, Portugal.
WSF 2011, Dakar, Senegal
The World Social Forum will be the first gathering of social movements from around the world in the coming year. During the WSF, we will present the results of our 3rd International Action, with special emphasis on the Closing Event held in Bukavu.
The struggle continues!
We are an international movement in permanent mobilisation. We develop actions that go beyond our international actions, with specific agendas at country, territorial and regional levels. This means that we are able to be present in diverse networking spaces among social movements struggling against capitalist, patriarchal and racist globalization.
Quebec: National Action exceeds expectations; mobilisation continues
The WMW national action in Quebec was made up of a series of marches and actions in different towns, carried out between the 12th and the 16th October, culminating in a large demonstration on the 17th October in Rimouski.

Mwenga and Kasika: Never Again!
On the 16th October, a delegation of the World March of Women visited Mwenga, a village where, in 1999, 13 women were buried alive after being humiliated and tortured. On the way, the delegation stopped in Kasika to pay tribute to the 1,937 people who were killed during the massacre of the 23rd and 24th August 1998
Actions in solidarity with Congolese women
Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Catalonia, France, Galicia and Mexico, Morocco, Quebec and Switzerland are some of the countries where activities were carried out simultaneously at the same time as the International Action in Bukavu. See more details here.
Debate Panels established links between systems that generate violence against women and poverty
About three thousand women participated in panel discussions conducted on days 14 and 15 October in Bukavu, around the four WMW area actions: peace and demilitarization, common good and public services, violence against women and women’s work (for women’s economic autonomy). Manifestation with more than 20 thousand women closes the Third International Action
Wearing t-shirts, paintings, colorful dress codes of WMW, accompanied by musical instruments, songs and dances, women from all over the world and from all of the 11 provinces of Democratic Republic of Congo they marched on October 17 in Bukavu, to demand and call for peace and the end of militarization and using violence against women as a war weapon.
October 17th - March of Women for the Peace
The March of Women for the Peace takes place in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo on October 17th. In this event, 1,500 participants are expected. The concentration are in Triangle de Nguba, Kadutu, Bagua, at 10 a.m.. At noon, the march will go to the Independence Square, where there will be reading the Manifesto for Peace.
Debate about demilitarization and peace
After the reception from the autorities of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the evening on day 13, women from WMW in Kenya encouraged the opening of the event in the morning this Thursday 14, followed by the debate about the situation of women in military areas, as in DRC, Curdistan and Haiti. The debate was concluded with the presentation about the vision of WMW in relation with peace and demilitarization.
WMW will gather more than 1,000 women in Bukavu, DR of Congo, in a major event which will discuss, among other things, the effects of armed conflict on women's lives
More than 1000 women from around 40 countries will be gathering in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo, for the closing event of the 3rd International Action of the World March of Women. From 13 – 17 October the representatives of this global feminist action movement will discuss the situation of women in the African Great Lakes Region as well as the effects of armed conflicts on women's lives all over the world.
Kenyan women caravan is already on the way to Bukavu
